I treat every workout like it’s my last workout. Every single time.
It’s a fight to me. It’s me versus my mind; it’s me versus the weights. When I lift, I’m in my own head.
I remember one time when I was squatting and I got to 30 reps and almost couldn’t go any more.
I was so fatigued and tired. I just said to myself, “This is you. Nobody else will do this.”
Then I just kept going, one rep after another, until I finally finished.Lifting and training isn’t all about being physically tough; it’s about being mentally tough too.
